Sealed Air and Koenig and Bauer expanding alliance

Sealed Air and Koenig and Bauer AG have announced their intention to expand their strategic partnership for digital printing machines by signing a non-binding letter of intent.

The collaboration aims to enhance packaging design capabilities significantly by developing digital printing technology, equipment and services.

Solutions created by Sealed Air and Koenig and Bauer will scale and deliver digitally printed materials substantially faster, allowing brand owners to promote their products by engaging with consumers through digitally enriched packaging.

The Koenig and Bauer RotaJET series of digital printing presses will incorporate Sealed Air’s Prismiq intellectual property, software and hardware. By accelerating the digitalization of printing platforms, both companies intend to drive the expansion of their solution portfolios. The partnership is expected to broaden market opportunities for both businesses and result in co-branded digital printing presses.

Introduced last year, Sealed Air’s Prismiq enables brand owners to expedite their market entry with higher quality and more cost-effective designs. These solutions also enhance business performance, boost operational efficiency and engage consumers through digital content linked to packaging.

‘SEE is delighted to collaborate with Koenig and Bauer to bolster both our digital transformations,’ said Ted Doheny, Sealed Air president and CEO. ‘SEE’s Prismiq technology will assist Koenig and Bauer in transitioning their printing platforms from analog to digital, while Koenig and Bauer will help accelerate and augment the robustness and effectiveness of SEE’s digital solutions.’

‘We are honored to deepen our established partnership with SEE. It serves as a potent and efficient catalyst for the continued development of our digital printing strategy and digital product initiatives, and it bolsters the robust position of our RotaJET series of printers for further industrial success,’ stated Dr. Andreas Pleßke, CEO of Koenig and Bauer AG. ‘To fortify our extensive product portfolio of presses and software solutions for the printing and packaging markets, we have relied on fruitful cooperation agreements for many years. This exceptional collaboration with SEE will empower us to unlock immense potential for technological advancement and business growth for both partners.’
